Rent a car in Mykonos and visit these amazing beaches no one knows!

Visit these amazing beaches no one knows!

Mykonos, the Greek legendary island, is one of the most touristic destinations in Europe. A magnificent Chora, crazy nightlife and stunning beaches make the summer vacations in Mykonos a lifetime experience. There are many worldwide known beaches in Mykonos, such as Super Paradise, Psarrou, Paradise, Elia and Panormos. These beaches have top facilities, amazing beach bars, sunbeds and water sports. That means that they also have crowds of tourists. But what if you want to go off-the-beaten-track in Mykonos? To beaches, where you can find serenity and discover hidden beauties? Are there this kind of places in Mykonos?

The answer is yes, there are! Mykonos has everything, and believe it or not, you can find a peaceful side of this cosmopolitan island. Of course, you can’t do that by public transportation. You can rent a car in Mykonos for 2-3 days and discover in a close destination these beautiful bays that have something different to offer.

Agios Sostis

Agios Sostis is the most famous untouched beach in Mykonos, and it is the quieter version of the beach nearby, Panormos. Remember to avoid it on a windy day with meltemi, as it is located on the northern side of the island. However, you can find this beach also calm and enjoy its wild beauty.

Choulakia

Choulakia is one of the few pebbly beaches in Mykonos. It is located only 5 km from Chora, and it is considered a natural site on the island. Therefore, it is prohibited to remove any rocks. Because it is on the western side, it is one of the best spots to watch the sunset in Mykonos. Don't be discouraged by the fact that the bay is pebbled. It has the same emerald sea waters you admire on the other beaches of Mykonos. Remember that at this beach there are no facilities, so don’t forget to take water with you.

Kapari

Kapari is a small beach on the western side of Mykonos that will charm you with its virgin beauty. It is the perfect spot for romance and swim away from mass tourism, and thus it is nudism-friendly. The sunset there is just breathtaking!

Fokos

Fokos is located on the northern coast of the island, so don’t go there on a windy day during July and August, when meltemi can create huge waves. It is a fine sandy and secluded beach with deep blue waters. It is almost unknown to the tourists because it is accessible only via a dirt road, where you need a 4X4. It is unorganised, so don't forget to take umbrella and water with you.

Mersini

In a close distance to Fokos, you will find another unspoiled but charming beach, Mersini. The road is bumpy, so you can go there by a 4X4 car after Fokos. Local people say that Mersini is the next beach in Mykonos that is going to be developed, when a proper road is constructed, so now is the time to explore it before it gets to crowded.
